Audio Course "The Somatic Bond. Nervous System Support for Pet Parents"

by Pawprints & Presence

This is a 9-part audio course exploring how nervous system regulation, body awareness, and emotional safety influence the relationship between humans and animals.

Rather than focusing on obedience or behaviour modification, it offers a calm, body-based approach to understanding animal behaviour through the lens of safety, stress regulation, connection, and co-regulation.

You will learn how your own nervous system state shapes interactions with your pet, and how calm and grounded presence can help create the conditions where trust, emotional balance, and behavioural change can naturally emerge.

Through short guided practices, reflections, and simple daily exercises, this course helps you develop greater awareness of both your own body and your animal’s signals. Drawing from trauma-informed care, applied neuroscience, mindfulness, and somatic regulation practices, each lesson offers practical tools that can easily be integrated into everyday life with your pet.

This course is suitable for guardians of all companion animals, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds, and other pets.

You will learn how to:

  • understand the connection between the nervous system and behaviour
  • recognize signs of stress, overwhelm, safety, and regulation in both humans and animals
  • use grounding, breath awareness, and body-based practices to calm the nervous system
  • develop greater emotional awareness and self-regulation during challenging moments
  • create calmer, safer, and more connected interactions with your pet
  • strengthen trust and co-regulation through mindful presence
  • respond to behaviour with curiosity and compassion rather than control or coercion
  • build simple practices that support emotional wellbeing for both you and your animal

About Me

My name is Biggi, and I’m a dog trainer and certified Behavior Adjustment Training instructor with a special focus on environmentally sensitive and reactive dogs, a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine for dogs, and a longtime practioner of mindfulness and meditation.

For many years, I’ve supported pet guardians in navigating the emotional challenges that can arise in life with animals - especially when stress, anxiety, overwhelm, or behavioural struggles become part of daily life.

My work combines modern behavioural understanding with mindfulness, nervous system regulation, compassion-focused practices, and emotional awareness. I believe that living with animals is not mainly about training them, but about relationship, connection, and learning how to regulate ourselves alongside our pets.

This course was created to offer practical mindfulness tools, emotional support, and a softer way of relating both to your animal companion and to yourself.
